Lamson LiteSpeed Reel Deal
HARD ALOX Finish
Lamson Reels In Action
Lamson LiteSpeed Reels are tough and very lightweight. They come as close to being the all around, do everything reel as anyone has ever built. Certain sizes are incredibly adaptable. For instance a #3.5 is a great reel with single-hand rods from #7 through #10, and they do a great job with two-hand rods from 12'-#5 to 13'-#7. Smaller LiteSpeeds, such as #1.5 fit the daintiest sizes of trout rods, and #2 is the larger trout and bass sized. The #2 is also a great rod for smaller bonefish, etc. All LiteSpeeds are saltwater proof, (well as reliable as anything can be). Ask Francisco Muñoz (Baja Big Fish Company), he landed a 48-pound Yellowtail with a LiteSpeed #4 (coming soon). Or ask Mark Bachmann, who landed a 103-pound tarpon with a LiteSpeed #3.5.

Lamson Liquid Reel
Let’s face it, die cast reels are intended to be low cost alternatives to a machined reel, right?  Imported, heavier, easier to damage, plain Jane, etc. Well . . . not necessarily. Lamson created Liquid focusing purely on the virtues and advantages a pressure-cast process can offer.  Structurally you can do things with casting that you can’t machine, such as full radiused compound curves, near zero-radius inside corners, and for precise fit and finish, you can go back and machine the cast part in critical areas- amplifying the best aspects of the process. Lamson pushed back on other boundaries as well. How much of a reel at this price can be made here in the U.S.?  Quite a lot as it turns out, and it’s a good mix.  These high quality castings are imported, but the components critical to the drag system are CNC-machined here in the U.S.  Liquid reels are assembled in Boise, alongside Lamson's highest priced reels.  No other $100 reel can boast this much U.S. content and quality oversight. Enjoy the best of all worlds, including the best of Idaho, USA. After you select your reel, select your color sleeve.

Giant Louisiana Redfish
We love getting emails from our customers, especially ones like this one from Peter Velasco addressed to our customer service man, Barny Wong:

Barny...Thought you'd like to see a sample of how my Son and I did in Southern Louisiana last weekend.  In a day and a half we caught 17 Redfish with only 2 of them under 30"...and 4 of them over 40"...with the largest being a whopping 43.75 incher.  In addition we caught 11 Black Drum ranging from 13lbs to 39lbs.

My new Loomis NRX 9wt was OUTSTANDING!!!  With a heavy weighted baitfish imitation, an 8ft leader with 20# tippet, and Rio Redfish Taper it cast as well at 15ft as it did at 60ft.  Thanks for getting it to me in time for the trip.

If you, or any of your clients, want to catch GIANT Redfish and Black Drum in the late Fall and Winter...Have them contact Capt. Jeremy Chavez at (281)
546-1393 or jeremychavez23@gmail.com and go to www.castingtales.com.  Jeremy is Licensed in Texas, Louisiana and Florida, and although he doesn't discriminate against using any means of tackle, he prefers a fly rod.  Depending on the season, you can find Jeremy on the upper-coast of Texas, down around Cocodrie, Louisiana or Islamorada, Florida...He's equally as capable in either state, and is a Hell of a Nice Young Man.

A Report On The Echo Clinic
Thanks to: Eric Nuefeld, Red Kulper, and Troy Lichenegger, who represented the Echo Rod Company! It was evident that these guys put a lot of work into the preparation of this program. A lot of different facets of rod design were clarified to the folks who attended the indoor presentations. The weather was perfect for the afternoon outdoor/on-the-water of activities where everyone got to try any Echo rod in their massive selection. Echo is possibly the most innovative fly rod company in business today. They are on the cutting edge across a broad spectrum.
In any group there are stand-outs. The new BASE series at $89.95 got a lot of attention, there is now no doubt: fiberGLASS is back, ECHO3 is very cool, but cost less than other super-cool rods, THE BIG WINNER at this event: SADDOW II is the hottest thing going in the rod world today. And why not? 80% of all fly fishers fish for trout, and 80% of what trout eat comes from below the surface of the water. The majority of trout anglers spend much of their time fishing with nymphs. The best nymph-rods win, and the SHADDOW II series are the best nymph-rods available, PERIOD, end of story !!!
